How did you learn about IV?

The place to hang out and talk about totally anything general.

Borrowed my friends version of Uplink.
Loved it.
Beta tested Darwinia on Linux (though couldn't help out much due to naff graphics card drivers making playing it an occasional hassle)
Loved it.
Bought it.
Then bought a legit copy of Uplink along with Defcon when it came out.

It's all Kieron Gillen's fault, really.

I bought the Strategy First version of Uplink from Stardock. Did they ever end up getting paid for those?

I think I saw a (bad) review of Darwinia in the German magazine GameStar and just did what I usually do: Ignore the critics and still buy the game from my favourite retailer. After I got hooked I also got Uplink directly from IV and the rest is history :).

I bought Uplink in early 2002, liked it, joined the forums, bought Darwinia, didn't like it, bought Defcon, didn't like it.

Sadly Darwinia and Defcon are sitting on my shelf, having only been played once each.

Uplink is awesome though and I still get it out every now and then.

Uplink demo on the PCZone cover CD.

Played the demo four times, then took out my hard earned paper round money and bought it :)

Followed by the two subsequent games. Haven't got round to preordering multiwinia yet, but it'll happen soon!

Leave it any longer and there won't be any "pre" about it!

i saw a jewel case version of Darwinia at Target. Sounded very interesting. Did some research, sounded more interesting. Eventually, I saw they put it on sale and got it. I didn't know Uplink and Defcon were from them until I joined up a few days ago, though. I've been interested in uplink so that might finally push me to get it. And Defcon, I wasn't interested in at first, but I guess I'll give it a chance.

Tom and Vicky Arundel used to be my (almost) next door neighbours a long time ago. Interested to see what they'd actually made, picked up a copy of Uplink at HMV and have been following IV ever since. :D
