Wouldn't it have been easier to just say News 24?...

probably, but we just call it channel 80 around here so that's what I typed, it was only when I got to the end that a good percentage of people would have no idea what I mean so I clarified it a bit in the brackets :P

Code: Select all

Economic Left/Right: 0.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 2.46

And according to the historical figure bit, I'm more or less on the same mark as Romano Prodi, current PM of Italy

It's great to know that the Italian PM is historical! Do you know something we don't?

Back to the topic (o noes!)

Code: Select all

Your political compass
Economic Left/Right: 2.12
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.10

That's more or less bang on the line for authoritarianism, but there were 2 factors at play there - my general views on government, and a general 'sex and drugs for all' philosophy (well I am a student... what do you expect?) which shone through the last section, so it ended up halfway between the two.

Feud almost got another friend in his corner. Now zjoere has one instead.

I do like the way that almost no-one on this forum is in the same area as all the serious political-types these days. I also appreciate the fact that no-one famous is in my quadrant. Yay individualism!

This is likely a major factor in political apathy.

"Political apathy"? Sounds boring.

I'm not sure the scores they show for "serious political-types" are entirely accurate. When we take the quiz we do so privately; when they estimate the answers for public figures they use public statements which by their nature are going to be shaped by many factors (public opinion, practicality, etc.) that tend to make them significantly more conservative than they would otherwise be. I think if these public figures took the test themselves they would be in significantly different places.

/me is annoyed that I missed this Thread over Xmas ...

Ace, I so wanted to join you in Authoritarianism but it appears that I still have a slight mistrust of the use of power. Not intentional abuse, mind, but rather the danger of Tuttle / Buttle accidents
