Since the people in Darwinia thought that it would be better if I posted here...

Who likes what?

(I personally like Darwinia the best)

Its a matter of personal tastes I feel. All are good games, but I just happen to love the strategy, Nuclear War and MAD of Defcon the most.

I'm going to go for Defcon because it's multiplayer, Darwinia was amazing, but there's something even better about nuking people you know. Or even people you don't know.

I've still not played Uplink, even though it was the reason I first heard of IV.

I can't play Defcon. Any ideas?

1) School blocks all online games :(
2) The “computerless” nature of my situation requires me to carry Defcon Darwinia and Uplink on a (closely guarded) USB flash drive so that I could play wherever I find a computer handy. From what I’ve heard, you can’t use keys on “different IPs.” So even if I do play, it’ll be on a demo user.

If I could only take one game with me on a desert island (that oh so happend to have a computer and eletricity...) I would take Darwinia with me.

I agree neo, and testrie, you must be able to play on different IPs because I don't have a stable IP; thus every time I reconnect it's a new IP.

Er, I doubt that. Perhaps if your key started popping up from 10 IPs at once IV would consider banning it but I find it highly unlikely that if you are the sole user of the key and are using it sensibly i.e. dont try to authanticate the same key while its been authicanticated on another mahcine, then you'll be fine.

Well, if you don't have an instant messenger or other connection to the outside world (you have internet but no browser, no aim, no msn... etc, you would probably want defcon (in game chat - HELP ME! I'M on a DESERTED ISLAND!) or Uplink irc client - hey, its worth the credits if you want to get off the island.

Uplink.

The other two IV games just don't appeal to me for some reason.

Meh. I wouldn't need to get off the island if I had Darwinia. :D What are global surviellance satellites for? Finding people trapped on islands, obviously!

Also, it's possible to jimmy a usable browsing system through a basic connection without an official browser- it's just insanely hard to do.
