New Introversion Software site launches

Postby Chris » Fri Dec 23, 2005 8:29 pm

If you point your browsers at www.introversion.co.uk you'll see our brand new Introversion website! It's been overdue for some time and we're glad its finally finished. Feel free to take a look and browse around some of the new stuff. You may notice we've adopted the Darwinian as our company logo. We've been without a decent logo since we started in 2001, and we finally decided that the simple shape of the Darwinian was so iconic and immediately recognisable that we'd be fools not to make use of it.

We're celebrating the launch of this new site by giving you a 5 minute film entitled "Introversion - The Movie", which you can download from the new Introversion site. We ran around London for a whole day armed with a digital video camera and filmed ourselves talking about the biz, and this movie is the result. We hope you enjoy it.

We'd like to thank Jo Stansfield for designing the new IV website, and you can visit her web design company Serendipity Design here. (She is also responsible for the awesome Darwinia manual.) This is just the opening launch of the new IV website and we've still got lots to do, like getting the news pages to work, creating new IV forums, etc etc. It was the same with the Darwinia website - we start simple and add more and more content as the months go by. Keep an eye on it!

Many of you have noticed by now that our third game has been announced in PC Gamer, and its name is Defcon. You'll see we've made room for it on the new site, and we'll have some nice screenshots and information for you to look at soon. We are also pleased to announce that Gary Chambers (Icepick to the IV community) is the mystery second developer on the Defcon project, and has been working for us full-time for the past six months since graduating.

Okay... not very soon?

Seriously, the way that IV works, "soon" is generally the best answer you will get. They play things very close to the chest.

I was like ZOMG when I saw that bit! I always to that on a set of steps at Uni! Overall, very funny (and interesting) video.

New site looks great, except for the lack of information about Defcon! :P

Yay! Early Christmas present!!!!

Can't wait for the movie to download, 27%, 28%...

I'd better get to work finishing my Defcon fansite.

EDIT: Movie finished downloading, completely amazing. Loved the whole, "Well, here we are, this is what we do, and now that you've seen this, buy all our games." feel to it.
