Erm i have a question: you are creating a demo to gain more players, right?
isnt it necessary that the specific demos get translated into the language?
how do you want to do this? do you have professional translators or is the translation not involved in the plan?

If possible, try to avoid reading above material.
It contains around 46% of idiocity and 72% of unlogical stuff.

All of the translations that I know about are being done by users that speak the language. As far as I know, the only complete translations are a Russian and Italian translation. I assume that the new demo will be similar, in that community members will have to do the work. IV only consists of a few people, and I doubt they have the resources to hire a professional translator, let alone several.

However, I have never won a random selection/raffle competition before.
This isn't random selection. Near as I can tell, the folk at IV are looking for two things:
1) Unique hardware on which to test things (thus having a funky sound card would be a plus)
2) People who are active in the forums, and have a proven track record of reporting/tracking down bugs
As you are new, you are unlikely to be selected based on the first criteria (though finding the 'bug' with the debug camera on your own wins you points in my book -- I've been complaining about that one since beta4 ). However, if you have a machine with an odd configuration, like a strange video card, or some funky Linux distro, you may have a fairly good chance.
At any rate, good luck!

I wouldnt have thought this would be as hardware based, from what i can guess, much of the code (if not all) for the rendering and the sound system will remain pretty much the same, and (most of) the hardware specific bugs have been found and/or fixed so far.
But I suppose a fair bit of new hardware has been released since then and this should be probably tested.

Yeah, I rather assumed that activity on the boards would be more significant. However, I am willing to bet that odd configurations are still a plus. John is still trying to get an installer working properly on some AMD64 Linux systems...

German's almost done as well! (nope, it didn't die).
I offered IV free cookies in my signup. Subtle bribes are the key to... eh... nevermind. I have no idea where I was going with that.

Gave this a try?

Heh, thanks for that Starfyre... this helps
Also, your subtle bribes have no value here!
And I say that, only because...
