DIPLO
DIPLO - and here is why.
In a diplo game you can optionally have variable units.
In a default game you cannot optionally have diplomacy.
You don't just tell your 1v1 opponent - hey, back those subs away, hey hug your coast with that fleet or i will kick you from the alliance.
You don't attack your opponent while he's your own color to only use 3 missiles per silo and you don't kick the CPU so it will attack your opponent.
I will exclude 6 player default games cause that's just a ffa massacre.

Well you can have variable unit count diplomacy.
In 1v1 there is no diplomacy just pure nuckage.
So since you have to chose between 2 evils, i chose the one evil that can optionally host elements of the other evil.
That being said, i do have my share of fun in diplo, var uc or not.

This is what I am talking about.... You can play BOTH not just one. Diplomacy has its own thing and its fun to play once in awhile. Stop trash talking diplomacy..... Its quit fun to play. Yes I don't know if you knows this but defcon is a game and meant for recreation not so, stressful and taking "a lot out of you". That doesn't mean we should not have 2v2 1v1 games or anything its just don't me "hating"

I love how people forget that, first and foremost, the selling point of DEFCON was being able to use superior strategy to fake-out your 'allies' in diplomacy mode.
Maybe one day.
