If you wait for the Linux version, it is going to cost more to get it shipped to you. Why not pre-order now, and have the Linux version ready for you when it comes out?

I really want to buy/pre-order but can't decide between the Steam vers and the boxed one, I really like having boxes, but I also really like having the game tied to Steam, so all I do after one of my many full reformats of the comp, is log onto my Steam account and d/l all my chosen games just by double clicking'em.

Why can't you just install the game from disc after you reformat?

And it goes much faster too.

I'm probably gonna have my dad order it off steam because i already have quite a few other games on steam so i figure that'd be a good idea.

I went ahead and ordered off of Steam. After thinking about it, I don't really see the point in having the CD/DVD version.

I preordered off Steam once I saw IV games were being sold there. I played Uplink a few years ago, and Defcon looks amazing.
