Because she is far from unstoppable.
Again, this is not only about current skill, rankings or whatever. I already explained this:
Bottom line, you have to draw the line somewhere. Most of our regular players have improved considerably over time. And i happen to believe, that the gap to the top 5 players is nowhere near as big as it used to be.
Again, this is not only about current skill, rankings or whatever. I already explained this:
Nobody self-selected anyone. There is a long standing consensus, dating back to the days before the age of enlightened turtle on who is considered to be among the greatest players. Young ones like you might not no that. Few written records from that period survived the great dedconian enlightening. Only those who participated remember the ancient battles that forged the Masterhood of Defcon. And not many of those are still walking among us.
So you might imagine, the exact origin of those who are considered master is clouded in mystery. I don’t know for example why i am considered to be better than most. But my name comes up regularly, usually fourth or fifth in line after the best three, so that’s that.
Anyway this is less about who is at the top currently. Just look at our tourney stats. Horrible.
Its about reputation. You get a chance to face the legends of old on the field of glory.
Games that will be remembered for a long time. You ll earn a reputation of your own. You don’t get that chance very often.
Bottom line, you have to draw the line somewhere. Most of our regular players have improved considerably over time. And i happen to believe, that the gap to the top 5 players is nowhere near as big as it used to be.
