So i had a couple ideas while playing through a couple different maps. I havn't really played any other prison life simulator and i think its a cool idea for a game even though this is just a escape mode right now.
---- Automatic prisoner security level change.
What i mean by this is when i was playing i would join the random prison usually as a medium or max level security prisoner and the security level would stay the same even after i killed a couple dozen guards. My general idea is that when you submit a prison to the workshop you can choose the two thresholds for going up a security level and going down a security level such as not being in trouble for 6 hours means you go down or getting solitary for 6 hours means you go up a security level. This would enable prison designers to have easy areas in their prison (min security) where if you screw up and get caught the solitary punishment would send you to a harder area with more guards/less places to steal stuff and even harder areas if you screw up again.
---- Initial difficulty choices
Before you would join a prison you would be allowed to pick your starting security level as a difficulty setting (min security is the easiest while max is the hardest). In addition you could allow the easier difficulty to start with a perk or two at random or chosen because it is a easier difficulty or have an initial gang member.
---- Automatic Swat team
Basically when submitting a map to the workshop you could choose after how many deaths or rioters the swat team would come. Allowing the swat team to come would add an additional layer of difficulty where if you kill too many people you start getting swat units which could be made to be much stronger and possibly have those town gunners from the campaign come if it gets really bad.
---- Trading system
It seems that while playing regular game the prisoners are trading their contraband around like crazy and it would be cool to have some sort of system in the escape mode where by talking with other prisoners you could find out what they are dealing and what they are buying. This could allow you to then either go find what they want and sell it to them or get enough points or money to be able to purchase a tool or weapon without having to go get it yourself. In addition you could make a dealer perk that would have that prisoner trade more items or a exceptional dealer that trades a very large amount of items so if you wanted to trade alot you'd need to meet enough prisoners to find yourself a dealer or super dealer. You could also have trading with prison staff if some of them are corrupt enough.
---- Luxury buffs
Right now i cant seem to find any use for luxury items so it would be interesting if you added a temporary buff or ability to these. My general idea is that different luxury items would grant you a temporary boost to speed, strength or health when used so that if you do find some cigarettes you can actually use them to gain a boost to make you stronger for a little while. Maybe the cellphone would allow you to call a relative outside the prison to bring you something through a visit.
---- Quest system
I was thinking that it would be fun if other prisoners or staff could give you quests like work at this job for 3 hours or destroy some specific object. Maybe even get some prison hitman requests for specific targets.
