2 Great ideas. Most interesting I hope.
I have done a little research on this and havent found these ideas yet. If the're out there, please don't chew me out because I'm new.
Ok let's say you're in a 6 player game, and you have a 2 way (or even a 3 way) alliance going.
and then BAM! one of your supposed teammates back stabs you, you're cought off guard and you suffer severly.
My idea is that you could post ransom on that player (or a contract kill, to simplify.) With posting this ransom you offer.. let's say a sub fleet you have left. or control of silo's and radar, in exchange for hitting that player back in desired "spot"
So you're left with nothing but some navy and maybe 1 silo and 3 bombers... hand control over, you get 1/2 the points, and payback!
There ofcourse would be some rules for those who accept ransom, similar to the alliance rules.
My second idea, is what I'd like to call, "Neutral Black Market" (NOT POSSIBLE IF ALL CONTINENTS ARE TAKEN)
This is how I see it... During defcon 5 and possibly even 4, you may purchase land/ radar/airbase for victory points in advance.
I can see already you know what I have in mind. I don't think silo's would be for sale or any units besides bombers or jets...
the airbase need not be either... perhaps 1 or 2 extra radar in a neutral land that can not be targeted.
Immagine having a radar right up your opponents ass, or your opponent having seen your silo placement!!
ofcourse, up to 2 unowned territories can be used, no more. Also, the "Neutral Black Market" would be placed randomly as well..
Let me know what you think of my ideas... and any comments on improving them.
I also see that my second idea is better than the first.

No, modding on that level requires access to the game code, so it's something only Introversion could do.
It's not going to happen: firstly, there will be no more feature patches for defcon or I'll eat a hat, and there's also the issue that neitther of those suggestions sound particularly positive in terms of gameplay.
Also, why the black text? My eyes hurt now.

No, no way IMO.
That would be pretty basic programming, nothing close to that is possible with Defcon.
But i`m no expert.
Not taking into account that your suggestion is pretty useless in the first place.
Dont allie with anyone, backstab yourself. Get the kills, get the points, win the game.
There is not more to it in 6 player games.

Well, he eats newcomers with nice little ideas for breakfast.

lol, thanks for all the replies.
I used black text because i had no light in room when i wrote it and the white! hurts my eyes..
However I see that it's frowned upon, I won't do it again...
Reading the idea now, I realise that the ransom thing sucks, but I still love the idea of the "Neutral Black Market"
I guess since I'm new, I probably don't consider the variables of full implication of such a system, however it still seems like an interesting idea to me.
Thanks for all the input everyone...
Hey Xander, I hear you like Toy Planes... I'll send you a B52 for X-mass.
