Great gamemode idea

Postby thesprucemoose » Thu Jul 03, 2008 8:30 pm

I was just randomly reading the forums, and i decided to look at some of the older entries. I found this awesome game mode idea some guy had back in 2006 (original post: http://forums.introversion.co.uk/defcon/viewtopic.php?t=2447&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0&sid=824885000910ef803540713b1b94cf56 )

Heres the quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'd like to see a game mode where each player is given a secret enemy (or two), and you can only score kill-points by attacking that enemy. If you've ever played a "Missions" game of the boardgame Risk, you know what I'm talking about. It would be fun to try to find out who is trying to kill you, and also to subtly put bombers and nukes over your secret enemy's territory without them realizing you're trying to kill them.

Anyway, the reason why i ressurected the zombie thread was that i seriously think this is an awesome idea, and if i put it up here the devs might put it in the next update. Imagine how tense this would make diplomacy matches! Imagine building up an allies trust just to nuke him into oblivion when he finds out you were lying about who your target was..... :)

Just get together with friends, and agree to that. :\

Set up 6 scenarios for each player, roll a dice and tell them the result.

The end. :D
"Surely you didn't mean to press that button just then did you?"
"No, nor will i disarm the nukes."
"Oh well, I will have my Fighters shoot them down."
"Sure you will."
"Oh NOES, ITS BEEN PATCHED!!!"
