New Version of Defcon ?

Does anyone know if there will be some sort of expansion or a brand new version of Defcon anytime soon.

After awhile the game does get abit boring because its the same thing ...over and over.

There is little in the way of modding aside from changing the player maps,unit icons and sounds.

Don't get me wrong its a fun game but after awhile you just wish you had more options for gameplay.

I would like to have game options like Naval Operation where there are no nukes,the worldscale is like 1000 or more to simulate a large ocean and small bases which to launch bombers and a triple increase in the amount of aircraft you can have.

Another option would be regional mode where instead of showing the entire world you would have a region map thats a hot spot like Israel vs Syria
India vs Pakistan
Russia vs China

In the least it would be nice to have access to mod the amount of units you can have and to increase or decrease the ammo count.

One last thing...unique unit icons.

If none of these things can be done at least it would be cool if IV came up with a small update that would allow you to import 5 additional sets of unit icons.

Right now there are alot of different ship and jet icons but you can only have one set at a time.

An update to allow us to have up to 5 more sets would mean that I can create a B52 bomber for the United States and a Backfire bomber for Russia.

This would greatly help in alliance games like if china and Russia are on the same side they would have the same color but there units would look totally different,allowing the player of those units to know exactly which ones they are commanding.

You see, the thing is, there are other games - defcon without nukes is not defcon or anything approaching it. There are other games which simulate nval engagement in a realistic non-nuclear way (see War in the Pacific, although this is so hardcore you may actually die )

There are mods that concentrate on smaller parts of the world - there is a Japan one in the Mods section right now, and there are a variety of crazy 'alternative' mods like the 1984 mod and the Solar system Mod.
