New Ideas

Postby shaky » Sat Sep 29, 2007 7:46 pm

Hey Everyone, i have been searching for a game like this for years, ever since the wargames film was out but never ever seen one.
The games actually quite good but theres many ways i can think of improving it.

The main one i would like to see in the game is if you are playing offline against the computer would be, like a different lvls, so you can select tournament for example offline, and you complete the first lvl against 1 computer player, it then puts you onto lvl 2 etc without actually having to leave back to the main menu and set it up again.
i am new to this game so excuse me if there is and i have just missed it some how,
i like playing risk 2 lvl system so it just gets harder each lvl against the computer.

Thx

Shaky

Yea, I was new to this to, and I've had a couple bad experiences, so if anyone critisizes you, dont leave the forums. I'm glad I didn't. Yea, DEFCON is a really well thought out game though. I certainly enjoyed it when i first bought it.

It is a well known fact that the AI in Defcon sucks. Several people, including myself, have suggested that better AI should be a priority. However, Defcon was designed to be played multiplayer, and the AI seems to have been added almost as an afterthought. Thus, I wouldn't hold my breath for scalable / pluggable / whatever AI.

xander has a point. AI's made for if you dont feel like competing with people, or if you just want to win a DEFCON game.

It's courtesy of his massive avatar. I guess you're using Opera?
At which point I should mention - Mobster, you really should reduce the size of your avatar. While in Firefox it's nice and small, long-suffering IE users will be seeing it in all its 300*390 glory.

Maybe they should set a replay from xander as the default AI, should do fine in any situation aye? xD
"Surely you didn't mean to press that button just then did you?"

"Oh well, I will have my Fighters shoot them down."

No, you should get a good player to model the AI on. I'm not all that good.
