movable cities

Postby HEAVY MAGIC MODS » Sat Sep 15, 2007 8:44 am

After playing Defcon for months
my only suggestion for the world map game would be an easy move to breath new life in an old board.

I would like to see you be able to have a pregame mode where you could set up your own cities in any location in a country or potentially globally

at the basic level the game would always be different , and your opponents would not know till game time,
where or how you were going to set up
so it's a complete suprise!
now it's stratagy on the fly!
new thinking and tactics will arise quickly
using the Same old World

possibilities are endless to jump on from this angle.

My 2 cents
peace

This is probably a silly idea :) People would invariably lump their cities together with their installations, and make each city as small as possible.

Why not just use the random city options? If what you really want is more variability, that is the way to go, and it isn't open to cheating or odd balance issues.

why would you be able to move your cities? how does that make any sense at all? when the president of the united states comes into power, does he decide to move new york a thousand miles? what the crap

Defcon is a game -- it is not a simulation, it it not an atlas, it is not an encyclopedia, and it is certainly not real life. For a game, it might make sense to have the cities in different locations in order to vary the gaming experience.

i am agree with bert_the_turtle. That can be a stupid idea, imagine that can happen!.
With that, you can make the things unfair, like make the cities small and hide it in a silo... :x like the worst cheat of all in the videogames's history!
