No MIRV but maybee...more megatons pe nuke?

Just something i was thinking...
What if u were able to chose the power of your nukes?
Instead of 20 1 megaton nukes u coul choose only 5 of 4 megaton or even 2 of ten, etc.
Of course u would find hard to hit something with only one nuke, but if it got past defenses it could have a blast big enought to obliterate everithing in a much larger radius, a entire city with one nuke, a airbase with a 2 m2gaton nuke...
Disavantages- less nukes
Advantages - Fast (one hit) mega halving of a continent..
It would be just a game of balance, not too much not to less...
Just some inicial ideas .
Think about it and gimme feedback.

If you had used the search function, you would have discovered many similar suggestions. The general consensus is that although you may think that this would be cool, it wouldn't really add anything to the game, and instead subtract from the simplicity that many (myself included) believe that makes Defcon unique. Also, it is probably best to not treat this forum like irc or msn, because if you used proper grammar and spelling, you would probably be respected more.

First sorry for not using the search function, im new to this , ill take care next time.
Second , sorry for myspelling, grammar errors and such, but if your Portuguese is at least half as good as my English, i wont bug you. You see, im not trying to enter a linguistic exame.If u can understand me , fine. If not, wright in portuguese and i will answer with perfect grammar in Portuguese.
Third : A bit harsh and rude for a newcomer, no? Thought the idea was other, but what i see in many threads is that people disrespect others, insult them, say stuff like " Everyone thought that, and no one thought that could add to the game, so you newbie are stupid and we are the great Bacon Rullers"
Last: im not a child dont patronize me.

Criticism about my idea, better if constructive, and certainly not about my english wich i think is prety dam good considering my contry.Anyway if i can read u and u can read me, fine for me.
Maybe im a little jumpy today, but im not the only one.
And i could not find anyone with a sugestion like mine. Some stuff close, some discussions about it in real life, but not the ide to implement power diferences to nukes. And nobody said it would be complicated

This forum, especially due to IV's European draw, attracts many people who are not native English speakers. Cut him some slack.

See what i was meaning? We start with a simple idea and pass to grammar rules an discussions that mean nothing.

Ahem...anyway, as per your suggestion...what would be the benefits of having such large nuke yields? O_o it would be a rather unfair advantage but i might consider it a viable option :roll: ...giving you the choice to range your nuke yields (from a limited number of points....each yield costing more points, like 'variable unit counts' mode)...i'm mainly in favour of this idea for the benefit it would give me in naval nuking :twisted: (i actually wrote 'anal nuking' as a typo there :? ...ouch)

So yes...good idea... :wink:

P.S. Clever way to protect yourself :wink: ..."no M.I.R.V..."...so he obviously did do some searching on how not to get flamed :D

yea chimaera, sorry for my harshness to. I think im just used to people start talking about my writing without even knowing
my first language and even worst, were the heck my country is.
Back to nukes...
I was kind of thinking just using the silo numbers instead of points:
Each silo has 10 nukes, so i can send 2 X 5mton nukes.
Problem is that way, each silo can have maximum a 10 ton nuke.
Not very big, but i supose 10x wat we have now would be powerfull, maybe too much...
it would not be fair or unfair both players can do same . Just balance.
I think i woul put one silo with a 10 ton nuke (small :twisted: naval nuke or finisher, maybe 2 with only 3 ton nuke (silos and air stripes destroyers) and the rest normal nukes. Shure, if the other guy has 6 normal silos, he has 60 nukes, but has to make 60 launches to deploy them.In my setup, i have 39, but if the big one is well timed can spell death, and i need only 39 launches. If the big ones hit , they can cout more than many small nukes that take more time to launch
if u loose your power nukes, it spells death other way around...
Anyway the big ones should have proporcionaly big blast, afecting all targets on the blast radius.
Just some inicial ideas on balance and working mode...
Well, think about it, support it or nuke it leveled.

If this were to come in, I think it should only apply to silo nukes. That would give silo nukes a bigger ounch than regular sub/bomber nukes.

Yes i thought this only to be possible with your silos, adding another variable to the position opened/closed silo.
And also the nukes should look like the others, and able to enter with luck and a nuke umbrela.They would normaly fire and apear on map. This doesnt seem to complicated and is kind off fun but im not shure what good or unbalance would bring to the game. Hey, im a newbie, your the bacon lovers and Dr strangeloves out there .Think about it.
I also like the idee of a red button, or a arming switch, or a key to send nukes, but cant seem to find a good way of putting them and enhancing the experience, so for now, bye.
