I would love some sort of server-side configuration that allows N seconds for a player to re-connect before the AI swoops in and totally *(&*(&@#%@ a player's units.
Last night I was playing a nice, competitive game and, unfortunately, lagged out. I managed to re-connect within two minutes, and in that time I'd found the AI had:
- Launched all my silos
- Launched and /or re-positioned all my subs (most of them half-way around the world; what is the use in that?)
- Managed to lose half my surface fleet, and
- Sent my bombers, in a nice long, easy to hit train, at enemy installations.
So yes; for the love of all that is holy, please to either have a smarter AI or give a player a few minutes to get back into a game...
The obvious caveats being in Defcon *4*, if the player hasn't set up all his/her units yet, and when the victory timer has started.
Thank you.

Excellent, added: http://dedcon.homelinux.net:8000/dedcon/ticket/24
I won't be able to do anything about the victory timer situation and can't reliably detect whether you placed all your stuff, but I can just give the AI the control over your units some seconds before defcon 3.
