lol, I must admit I have been thinking of buying the DVD a lot lately.

I went to see it's initial release on the world's biggest screen in Oslo Spektrum:
40 (forty) meter/131 feet screen for an audience of 4500 spectators!

The scale was insane. The sound was massive, but not as tight as you would expect from more "humble" theaters.

I absolutely loved the first half - the suspense, not "knowing" what was to come. After that it all went downhill IMO. Still enjoyable, but the second half didn't match the first one... That is my beef with ID4.

Check out this article about the special screening:

The evacuation discussion got snarled in a mass of people flooding the interstate.

Has anyone seen the Animatrix? There's an amazing post-apocalyptic segment called the Second Rennaissance. I think you can find it on youtube :D

Animatrix rocks. I liked the part with the "broken" area at the torn down house, where the kids played...

ok if the topic has switched to anime... I recommend Death Note, Bleach and Naruto Shippuden as some of the better ones. Lets not turn this into a thread 'bout any random animes. Just mention the ones you are watching now and ones airing in Japan at the mo.

Or better yet, go to the anime thread.

It's no tangent >_<

The Second Rennaissance portion of the Animatrix has everything to do with politics, the apocalypse, failure to compromise, and mass destruction. I think that's relevant to Defcon :3
