An Idea For New Units In Defcon

I think there could be new units (OMFG! :shock:) in a new upgrade or Defcon 2 or something of the like. It'll introduce ground units, like amphibious tanks and shock troopers in APCs that can fire surface-to-air missiles. Amphibious tanks can invade cities, and also switch to Siege Mode (thank you starcraft!), where they can bomb medium-range targets. To defend against ground units, you can deploy bunkers. They can destroy any incoming ground units (except in massive waves) in ground defense mode, and switch to ABSM mode and fire missiles that are faster and more resistant than nukes, but do less damage on impact. You may not like this, but it's just my little idea :roll:....

No, it isn't "just your little idea." Half the people on these boards with less than 10 posts had that idea. They posted it here, without searching to find out if their idea was (a) unique and (b) welcome, posted yet another topic, and were promptly beaten to death with their own audacity.

It's quite possible (as opposed to probable) that its the same few people posting the ideas over and over again. :wink:

I think that every region should get one mega unti. Asia can have Godzilla, Africa can get King Kong, etc. This unit will terrorize the enimies country side, wrecking thier elevated train systems and eventually dieing in a manner that brings both relief and heart clenching sadness (as they really aren't bad, but like city racoons are just trying to adapt to a world that is not thier own).

Two words describe this idea: Unescapably Brilliant!

I think we need natural disasters too, like earthquakes, hurricanes, forest fires...

To complete Feuds idea:

North America: 50 foot woman
South America: Giant Anaconda/s
Europe: the Kraken (specifically, the one from Clash of the Titans)
USSR: Dazhdbog, or a giant 'simpsonized' bear.
Asia: Godzilla
Africa: King Kong

Why is everyone trying to change Defcon into Command & Conquer? :? :?

The King Kong, Godzilla, ... idea is quite unique and one I like. Just not for defcon.

Anyways, I'm off to some local chess club to convince them the game needs a pawn that can move through others... :twisted:

Sorry for the unconstructive feedback... however to redeem myself:
extra units could work, but you'd need to A/ balance them out against the others
B/ keep the strategies it will open up in mind.

Having a giant king kong stroll around causing damage doesn't really appeal to me from that point of view...
