okie. thanks.
I'll note that down.

I still think an official 'map editor' should be released. Hey, if this zanzer one is good enough, why not just have IV deem it worthy of officially being one map editor that works.
What drives me crazy are complicated mods that are beyond 'reasonable tech-head' level...
Anyway, back to the 'wishlist'....thread

I would like to draw the developer's attention to the widescreen/dual-screen display bug described here: http://forums.introversion.co.uk/defcon ... php?t=1776 (probably not hard to fix and would do a great deal for the people affected)!
On top of that I suggest storing the authkey in the game dir in encrypted form and the addition of an option to enable/disable storing it locally at all (when disabled you would have to enter it every time you start the game).
It would also be nice to have an option for the sound not to stop, when the game window is out of focus (not the active one).

My Idea...
Ok, love the game. I think they are all great ideas, but I am personally fond of the save / replay / resume game feature. I would even suggest taking it on step further. I have noted that the game itself is less than 1 mb, with the remainder of the download being sound files and the like. I love that. Wouldn't the save game files be very small as well? (a series of events an time codes... at 1772 seconds North American bomber leaves (323,329) for (490, 329) or NA-B(323,329)(490,329).... I would guess that even a very event laden game would only be 100 kb.... why not upload all of these games to a central server?
Ok, I am weird, I know, but what would it look like to have every game played at 100 times or 1000 times normal speed one after another? You could tie it in so that your account had a page with your battles on it, so that we could research our opponents, or brag on our blog...

That is a very odd assumption you made there. Just because the executable is small doesn't mean its incapable of producing tons of data. Have you noticed how long it takes to sync with a game thats been played for a while? The fact it takes so long to get all the data required to join should tell you that there is a bit more than 100kb needed.

not to beat up on smilestill, but...
You can easily write a program exe under 500 bytes ( or less.. but depends on compilers/environments ) that makes several mega-bytes of date in ~5 seconds. Although I am pretty sure that the games themselves wouldn't be more than 10 mega-bytes; but I don't have the code or a saved sync file, so I don't really know how big the games are. [/i]

Hell, you could do it with one or two lines of code. Initiate an infinite look (something like while(true)), write something to a file, repeat. But then, we are beating a dead horse :)

Just for you.
Incidentally - about 60 megs in 1 second.
(Not that you'd want to download it anyway, but I chose a random free hosting service, so I apologise if it's crap)

Yay for interpreted languages!
Here's a bit of Python:

Yeah, I just wrote a similar script, though I named the file "data" and wrote the string "foobar" to that file. <3 python.

<off-topic> heya world idiot. Africa is not a bug you know
I indicated "better AI" in the choises, for a plethora of reasons:
- it would make training on your own more effective
- if a player drops out (for whatever reasons) it would be nice to have a CPU player which is somewhat more intelligent than let's say a rock
But a system with a ranking, friends etc would really be most appreciated ! (as would replays
