Online Stat Tracking & Friends System

Postby Serathii » Tue Oct 10, 2006 3:48 am

Stat tracking via your forum account in DefCon.

Simply fill in your Email and forum Password and the MetaServer will log your wins/losses/disconnects and total score. (Positive & negative combined. Net score.)

Or has this already been mentioned?

Edit: I see that it has been mentioned in another form and there's some dislike to the idea. Stat tracking would be 100% optional, of course, and not a sure indicator of a player's skill, because they might get ganged in a 6-way nuclear war.

Another Edit:

Friends tracking or functionality through your forum account as well? Then you could find your pal's game without IP connecting, or take a peek at his stats.

You also have to consider the inevitable, that many, many people are going to do 1-on-1 with their friends (and rig the match) just to balance out their record, or to collect wins. And, as was mentioned in the other threads about this same topic, people will become too competetive which means they will throw tantrums and get sour when they lose (as in, worse than they do already).

They don't have to track stats. If it's giving 'em grief, they don't need to.

Anyone else think this is a good idea, or is statistical tracking just to competitive?

I don't care about the Stat tracking, but I would like to who is on the game so I could invite them to play a game or join theirs.

I think its a great idea but maybe youll get, let we say, 5 points if you are first in a 6 players match ,3 points for the second and 1 point for the third. For a 1 on 1 match the winner get 1 point.3player match: The winner gets also 1 points and 4player : The winner get 3 points, second get 2,third get 1.
Good or bad system?
For the haters of competition they can cross out the Stats and they just can play their game further
