Actor movement and job locations?

Hello. I recently made a mod called Prison Architect Plus, where the main goal was to rebalance the game for Escape Mode but I decided to also start adding and changing stuff too. One of the things I want to do is add new staff members, and add a new room for prisoners to work in. I already have sprites made for that, but I want to know if there is a location for the code used for staff/prisoner movements and a place to add new jobs for certain staff to do. Thanks for the help.

No worries! I wish I could make some mods but the best I can do right now is offer ideas (which I have done heaps ha ha).

I think the first mod I would make is one to change those freaking room icons. Those colors do not make sense LOL.

I see your posts everywhere, I even replied to one. lol. I happened to change some of the icons in the game with my mod Prison Architect Plus. The only ones that really needed changing were the Forestry, Canteen, and Chapel, if you go by the games default color scheme (Orange for prisoner housing/processing, Yellow for prisoner areas, Green for staff areas). I can continue fixing it if it's a problem.

BEST ever :D.

I wish I could add cats and dogs to calm prisoners down and assign them to cell blocks or dorms ha ha.

Yeah, I want to add movement to them, but I don't know how. That's why I made this post. I also found job locations and added some. Whether they work or not I've yet to find out.

If I knew how, and if it's possible, I want to make the cats move towards prisoners who need the companionship need sated.

Why don't you have them move between cells for now? So if you have 100 cells and 10 cats they will move between them freely?

Yuk, it's not as simple as that. You have to actually code if you want to tell entities where to go. It's in Lua, it's not a text document. I wanted to copy the script(s) used for Workmen because when the current job is finished all they do is wander around aimlessly. However, I don't think that anyone has found it. Not even the GitHub wiki by Aubergine10 has the scripts for any default entity.


amaus, are you crediting the authors for the collection you're making? I didn't see an authors' name anywhere. It's fine if you make a german translation of my mod - I would if I knew german - but I don't know about taking the whole mod and putting it in your collection. What you have to do is just make a new workshop item in which all it is is you translating the Base-Language file of my mod. Title it something like Prison Architect Plus German Translation, in german if you want. I'm sure you already know how to do that though.

Perhaps I could possibly make a Spanish version of my mod? I took 2 years in high school, but idk.

I think Workmen wander over to the storeroom or delivery area.

Maybe you might have to make it an animated object?

If you place a deliveries area and a storage area on a prison, and the workmen have no other job, all they do is wander around. If you have a large empty field, there's a great chance that they'll wander all the way out there.

what do you mean animated object? The game doesn't really have animations. Only thing I can think of is when people are using tools, like when workmen are installing something.
