Are materials still tied to the tileset.png?

Postby Araxiel » Sat Jul 11, 2015 6:48 am

There are great mods out there that let you paint lines on the floors and others that enable colour-coded walls and other total visual conversations, sadly you can not mix them since they all use the tileset.png, even if they just add new walls for example.

I was wondering, since mods are able to use their own sprite-files for a while now instead of objects.png, are materials still tied to the one tileset.png? If yes, is there any specific reason why they have to be part of that tileset.png image and can't/have yet to go the route of adding new object sprites to the game?

Hi Araxiel
I just made my first mod and had to use the tileset.png which i didn't want to becuase it stops ppl from using other mods with mine as you are aware. I tryed making the tileset.png bigger but the game didn't like it. i was hopping that there was a sperate .png file i could use just like the sprites.png but there isn't. i did trall through the forum for some answers and found this is not the first time someone has ask for this option for materials and there is a bug report too ...

Only a few ppl have signed it :(

I had great ideas that now have to be put on the back burner. :(

Oh well
