[Mod Error] Wrong Door Facing

Postby Seth2697 » Thu Oct 16, 2014 11:03 am

So im using the German POW mod on steam and I noticed that normal door is facing the wrong way during gameplay checked his objects.png noticed that the doors are indeed swapped to wrong spot but when I go to the materials.txt he's not using x,y axis for his objects.png there directly calling the sprite by name "door" i've been trying to fix this forever and cannot figure out how to swap them back even editing the objects.png directly changes nothing anyone know how to fix this?

Here is the link also if you'd like to subscribe for youself and see German POW Mod.

I've tried to contact the author about this but seems to either be done with the mod or just taking a long break so figured maybe someone else could help me. I don't experience this issue with any other mod than gulag architect which has an identical misplaced objects.png like below.

Normal Door Closed

Normal Door Open

This is the objects.png (Cropped Image) from POW Mod, notice its normal door position.

This is the objects.png (Cropped Image) from window/door fix mod its identical to the original and 99% of all other mods, notice its normal door position.

I'm almost positive that's the issue but wanted to confirm with other people and see if anyone knew how to change it since I don't know how its using objects by name on a 2d objects collage.

If the author is calling the original sprites, but with an overhauled objects.png, it's almost certainly a amended door that has been placed at the wrong position.

So probably only the author knows how to fix this?

You've posted the solution to the problem ;)

Just get the author to make the changes.

I've left comments went to the bugs sections of his mod reported everything pretty much done all I can to get him to address it. He's got brick sprite problems, wrong door facing, and job deployment issues too from lack of updating. The only reason i'm even able to use it is because I created a temporary fix that corrects his materials.txt I just published it if anyone is interested in playing this mod not broken its called anti-bricks.

Anyway about a week ago he took a look at my messages asked if I was sure it was his mod, gave him all the info and I haven't heard back since. Hopefully he will get around to I just was gonna fix it myself for just personal use not to redistribute as a fixed version or anything. I mean with my fix its not broken by any means its really not even bothering me that bad I just saw it and thought surely I can fix this myself lol.

A very annoying issue with abandoned or woefully supported mods unfortunately :(

But as mod support improves hopefully the quality issues can be addressed.
