Submarine/AI question (Just theoretical)

Would it be possibile for a mod to make a submarine (or any other unit for that matter), to be set so you could tell it where to go, and when it reached said location that it would be able to fire on its own, and choose its own targets?
In addition, could it be made to target during a situation of opportunity, such as when the opponent launches or when he or she is attacked by other teams?

To delegate sub-AI control to individual units? That would be a neat idea. Personally, at this point what I want to see most is subs with longer ranges. SLBM that can reach across the world.

These are modifications which are possible if you have access to the source code (it was available briefly during one of the humble bundles). If you don't have access to the source, it is not possible.

Can someone compile a version of Defcon with the following TWO changes:

1. Increase sub SLBM range to same as silo range. Missiles fired from subs can now fly as far as those from silos.
2. Decrease the efficacy of silo air defense strength by 50%. In real life, BMD and NMD technology is not that good at all.

These two simple changes alone would make Defcon dynamics and game mechanics changed in favor of mutually assured destruction aspect of the game an make it far more enjoyable for me. Anyone who has access to this code should be able to recompile a working binary in matter of minutes and it would be trivial. Or make a patch to it or whatever.

As long as this new modded version works in Diplomacy mode online, I will pay the first person to deliver this working mod $100 USD.

MINICOM already allows that via the worldoptions.txt mod mechanism. You have to distribute your worldoptions.txt mod to all players. Dedicated servers work with it, too, you just have to configure them to only allow MINICOM clients with the mod installed to connect.

And there was no need to spam this EVERYWHERE. In addition to the forum posts everyone can see, you both sent it to me personally by PM and email option.

And keep the money. People throwing offers like that around on forums usually get it from dark sources I want nothing to do with. Not saying you do, of course.
