Mods? can i have some help

Postby Davyjones » Mon Aug 17, 2009 8:36 pm

I cannot understand how to get the mods to play on my game. I have downloaded the 4 zipped mods that are available from the defcon website but get stuck at this phase "they must be unzipped into your Defcon game directory, in a subfolder called "Mods". Once unzipped in the right place they will automatically show up in the Mod browser in-game" one I cannot find this subfolder and two i do not understand this part C:\program files\Defcon\Mods\. Could anyone give a step by step guide on how to install the mods for a complete novice? Also are there any reasons the sub folder might not exist I downloaded my copy of the game fro example.

It would help greatly if we knew what operating system you use (windows, mac, linux).

Well, I have no experience with Vista, but maybe this will get you on the right path:

http://www.introversion.co.uk/defcon/mods/

Once you have the mods folder (you have to create it inside the Defcon folder), you can put all your mods there. I would suggest trying out Rubicon or DefLawn, two of my favorites.

Although, something appears to be amiss with Rubicon, so I'll have to look and see if I still have the original files.

Edit: I guess I should read more...

This: C:\program files\Defcon is where Defcon is stored on your PC, you then create a new folder called "Mods" to make it C:\program files\Defcon\Mods\ and put all of the mods you've downloaded in the Mods folder.

Not sure if Vista handles the folders different than XP. C is your main hard drive where Defcon is installed (usually).
