UK map

Postby 0Avatar0 » Sun Oct 22, 2006 1:13 pm

This is a little work in progress, not totally finished, but playable.
Travel nodes need to be fixed, coastline vector is pretty rough and more cities need to be added. If anyone wants to Play or work on this the files are in the zip below.
Enjoy.

http://www.winterstatic.com/uk/ukmap.zip

The Playable regions are:
Southwest
Southeast
Midlands & Wales
North England
Scotland
Ireland

Hey, downloaded the map and looks cracking. I have updated the cities file and locations on the map. It needs a little more work but would be able to send you it soon if you want, just give me your email and i will
How about a nice game of chess?

This is an excellent idea :P

Edit: I was thinking, maybe you could try to extract the coastline data from here? That might be worth it :)

Looks great

All you need on there is Leicester! I'd love to drop a few nukes on my home city.

Damn, this looks pretty good.

Can we zoom it out enough so Germany is visible? I might be able to re-enact the animation from the start of Dads Army yet!

Yo, I just downloaded this mod from the official Defcon site (latecomer), and I can't get it working. I unzipped it to the mods directory, and it's showing up in the mods menu as "data", but when I apply it and try starting a game, the map just starts as normal. Am I doing something wrong?

Well, I'm not sure if this is the 'proper' way to run mods but it works for me.

The 'data' and anything else in the zipped file should have its own folder in your 'mods' folder in the defcon directory.

For example: ~Defcon\Mods\UK\data wheres it seems yours is ~Defcon\Mods\data
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast...
