Silly Modding question

I have not had time to try to mod Defcon yet. When you play a mod on the internet, how is it that you are able to pay on a different map than other people in the same game? Or what happens?

Everyone participating must have the same map mod applied, even the spectators. If you don't then the game will fall out of sync.
