In my registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\OpenGLDrivers is empty...no subkeys, no values...

Hey Zoro,
this might be a stupid advice, but have you ever thought about to clean the cooler of your cpu?
My old notebook was running with an Intel P4. After around 2 years, it also started to crash, especially at hot summer days.
Not to mention the jet-sound, which was produced by my cooler. It turned out that it was full of dust. Cleaning the cooler fixed the prob.
