Hi everyone! I was following several discussions about this topic : how to save a game already started.But I cannot find other topics that explain better the issue. I read some post talking about Dedcon ,a specific program allows you to save matches on a dedicated server,but I still don't understood if it possible ,for example,start a match vs the cpu (just 1 opponent) and then pause the match and take it back the the day after or whenever... I couldn't find any other specific topic about that. So,anyone could help me to understand? Yeah,I know...you have be patient...I'm a damn rookie... XD

In the end my question is very simple... Can I pause the match vs the cpu and save exactly the situation at the moment, and started from the same point even if I have to turn off my laptop? (ran out of battery 4 example) If i could,where can I find some kind of guide to learn how to do that?

You can do it with dedcon (it's stickified in the MOD section), but it's a tad complicated and probably not worth the effort. You need this in your dedcon configuration file:

plus whatever other game parameters you want, run dedcon with that file, make sure it exits when you're done (quitting the client usually does the trick). When you want to go on, use the command line

Note that none of those commands are explicitly made to support savegames, they just happen to be abusable.

Anyway,I also need to know how Dedcon works and how can I use it for this kind of things... I cannot find a guide on its site and the instructions contained in the installer package are a bit complicated for a noob. XD Do you know a guide or a thread that explain clearly "how to move" on Dedcon?Or the basic points?

Do you think is too much work to do just to save games? I thought it was pretty fast to do...

Anyway,thanks 4 your reply and patience... I really hoped in someone that give me some kind of starting point to begin my work....

Probably. See, dedcon is a unix style program that barely was adapted to Windows and usually is just used to play back recordings there. You'd first have to understand how it works for hosting (you'll need to set up your game how you like it in there). I'm afraid I can't give a detailed step by step instruction; I'd probably get it wrong in enough places to make it useless. So yeah, you may be better off getting hibernation to work on your laptop.

Also of use: set the slowest game speed to pause in the advanced options, then you can properly pause games.
