Yes, i know, the faq redirects me to steam support, but i thougt i would get help here quicker...

I bought my Defcon a couple of years ago. Back then, steam wasnt something i used. It was acquired via paypal.
Now i have discovered that if you register it on steam, you get achievements(yes, you gotta catch ´em all).
So i tried to activate it by just entering the s/n that came with my copy. Didnt work.
Further reading told me that the s/n needs to be 13, 18 or 25 characters long. And mine is longer than that.
So the question is, what can i do now? Is it possible to activate it on steam even though you did not buy it there?

Im pretty sure someone else in these forums have been in the same position that i am in right now and solved it so....

Yes, the authentification system is different, so probably not possible. Also steam revokes its defcon keys on a regular basis, handing new ones. Dunno how it works, but guess Steam would need to know you bought the game. And you dont want you regular key being revoked for a temporary Steam key.
