How do I fix this?

That definitely looks like you should get an up to date graphics driver from your graphics card manufacturer directly (not Microsoft, not Windows Update).

Also, we haven't seen anything like that yet around here, so if you could post your dxdiag info, that would be great (assuming you're using Windows).

3)Type 'dxdiag.exe' in the 'Open' textbox and press the 'Ok' button
4)Once the 'dxdiag.exe' dialog is up, click the 'Save All Information ...' button.
5)Choose a destination for the file (ie: your desktop) and a name for the file (ie: 'dxdiag_info.txt')
6)Post the content of the file here.

I had just updated my graphics card yesterday, didn't do a thing.

Maybe it's a video mode thing. Try opening up preferences.txt in the Defcon progam directory and edit the first lines to read:

Code: Select all

ScreenWidth = 1280
ScreenHeight = 1024
ScreenWindowed = 0
ScreenColourDepth = 32
ScreenRefresh = 60
ScreenZDepth = 24

And if that doesn't work, try windowed mode with

Code: Select all

ScreenWidth = 1024
ScreenHeight = 768
ScreenWindowed = 1
ScreenColourDepth = 32
ScreenRefresh = 60
ScreenZDepth = 24

That's it. The old settings were

ScreenWidth = 640
ScreenHeight = 480
ScreenWindowed = 0
ScreenColourDepth = 8
ScreenRefresh = 60
ScreenZDepth = 24

Working fine now. Thanks, Bert.

Wow, very low settings for full screen. :P
