Introversion

Okay, so I just bought the Introversion Complete Pack on Steam for 5 bucks.
So I install Defcon, start it up, and it always freezes and crashes on Steam Authentication.
I've tried verifying the game cache, re-installing and restarting my computer, I've also downloaded the latest patch from their site, nothing seems to work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What OS are you running (XP? Vista? Win7?)?
What processor are you using (model name? 32 bit? 64 bit?)?
What video card do you have?

When you say the game freezes, please describe exactly what you mean, in as much detail as possible. When you launch the game, how far does it get? When it freezes, are there any error messages? Do you have to end the process, or does it crash on its own?

Also, unless things have changed with recent versions, there should be some log files in the directory where Defcon is installed. If you don't want to muck about with finding that directory in the Steam hierarchy, install the non-Steam version, and use that. If there is a file called blackbox.txt, post that. There should also be a debug log. Post that, too.

In general, I would suggest that you read through this topic, which is sticked at the top of this forum. The version information at the top of the post is out-of-date, but the rest is good information. Follow the directions there, especially in the section titled "How to make a good report!"

Edit: It works, I just can't log into Steam.
I downloaded the demo from the Defcon site, entered the authorization key and have the full game.

But when I try to play the Steam version, it successfully logs in, then immediately freezes.

I'm using windows 7 64 bit, all of my drivers and cards are up to date.
