Hello,

i habe a Problem with Uplink & Defcon. I've installed both under Windows HP 64bit (on an i7, 8Gig Ram & Ati 5870). But the games didn't start. I've switch to the compatibility mode and patched Uplink (1.54) & Defcon (1.43). But nothing it will not start.

Windows allways says: "The Program doesnt work" & looks up for a problem resolution (without any result ofcourse ;) )

Please help me

greetings from germany

I have the same problem but I am not using Steam. Downloaded from Introversion website, tried also installing 1.42 as one of the posts suggested, but no avail.

I am running Win 7 64bit on an Asus Gaming laptop with ATI Radeon HD 5870

Can someone help? Noone seems to care about the game anymore

I run regular Defcon and Steam Defcon on the same machine (Win 7 Professional, 64) and don't recall having any issues. However, it might be related to a permision problem.

Did you install the games as an admin on your pc?

Are all your drivers up to date?

I am working on that at the moment but ATI website is so annoying. It forces you to download huge packs instead of manually selecting drivers and downloading them. HUGE downloads keep dying becouse of so many people download them. Will let you know about the result

EDIT: Taken care of VGA is up to date. Still no result

I dont think my issues is with the graphics driver, my friend has the same exact Laptop ASUS with ATI Mobility Radeon 5870 HD and DEFCON works fine on his computer. We are both using the same graphics driver (latest)

Any ideas?

Maybe posting the crash report windows gives might help, can you post it?
Defcon leaves a Debug.txt and on occasions a Blackbox.txt. Those might include clues too.
