erratic mouse behavior

ver 1.43 worked fine on XP. Now with WIN 7 build 7100, the mouse is slow to lock on targets, zoom barely works or is erratic to the point you just want to slam it. It is a microsoft wireless mouse and keyboard. I have slowed its rate down through the control panel and tried all the mouse controls in the program itself. I did notice that the program loads hesitantly also. I've tried this in XP mode and no help there either. I'm running a nVidia 9800 gt. Intel 1.6 cpu. 2mb ram. all same before clean install of win7.
