Authentication Trouble

Just got the game from IV's site. Having problems with the authentication: I'm getting the "Unknown" error, so I can't play online.

-Tried changing Client/Server/MetaServer ports
-Tried disabling firewalls and various securities
-Tried port forwarding
-No errors in typing in the code

I'm connected via a hard line into the wall with no wireless network equipment like a router (so no UPnP or DMZ stuff should need addressing), running Vista.

Any suggestions?

We all have this issue since a day, its an unusal condition and we all hope it will be fixed soon. Only IV can fix it.
