Keyboard issue in chat

Postby static22 » Sun Aug 10, 2008 6:55 pm

For some reason certain keys like H and L do not register when I type them in the chat. Any fixes on this?

Try a different keyboard layout?

Is this different from alt-tabbing out of Defcon where characters get changed?

I have a similar problem too. I havn't had a need for the chat window until recently, and I noticed the same thing. So far I can't use the keys 'g', 'h', 'i', 'o' and some other ones. When I push them they either don't display or they appear as a capital 'H'

Recent Chat in Specator:
Khan: een HHt Hwned
Khan: Crap. BuHHed cHat w1nd0w <---I had to use numbers to fill in the missing keys
Jim: You don't say

I'm running Vista Home Prem (always updated) with a Standard US/English 101 key setup. Nothing fancy.
Thank you for your assistance on this issue.

Does running windowed cause the same problem?

Care to post a dxdiag?

1)'Start' windows button
2)'Run ...' or the search bar in Vista
3)Type 'dxdiag.exe' in the 'Open' textbox and press the 'Ok' button
4)Once the 'dxdiag.exe' dialog is up, click the 'Save All Information ...' button.
5)Choose a destination for the file (ie: your desktop) and a name for the file (ie: 'dxdiag_info.txt')
6)Post the content of the file here.

I had a similar issue on vista, here is how i fixed it: Go to control pannel-> Regional and language options->Keyboards and languages->Change keyboards and select any unwanted keyboard layout and hit remove, leaving only the one you installed windows with. That in my case fixed the problem (don't forget to set your layout to qwerty in the game options).

Edit: NVM the problem returned but now it's half of my keyboard that doesn't work :(
Edit#2: Restarted the computer and now it seems to work fine again, i don't know what's going on anymore :?
