Hello Nighteyes89 and welcome home :D

If you have some difficults with steam remove it and install this http://download.introversion.co.uk/defc ... -v1.43.exe after just open Autkey with any text edit and copy-past your key.

Try also to uninstall your Graphic Card and install the current driver (not reinstall it) and update your DirectX.

Your English rocks and you must be pround that you are German 8)

Is this on Vista?

Care to post a dxdiag?

1)'Start' windows button
2)'Run ...' or the search bar in Vista
3)Type 'dxdiag.exe' in the 'Open' textbox and press the 'Ok' button
4)Once the 'dxdiag.exe' dialog is up, click the 'Save All Information ...' button.
5)Choose a destination for the file (ie: your desktop) and a name for the file (ie: 'dxdiag_info.txt')
6)Post the content of the file here.

You have a key -- Steam just keeps track of it for you. You should be able to find it somewhere in the Options menu (I think). If it is not there, look in Tools. You are looking for a menu item called "Authentication".

Problem is, steam changes your authkey quite often, and it could get quite irritating having to constantly check it and put it into the vanilla IV install... :/

To slove this problem you can make an .bat or .exe and run it with your OS..

Example:
Paste Copy this command

Code: Select all

COPY /Y "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\defcon\authkey" "C:\Program Files\Defcon\authkey"
in any text edit after save it with .bat extention in your "C Drive" after clik Star >> Run and type regedit after HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >> SOFTWARE >> Microsoft >> Windows >> CurrentVersion >> Run and add an new Chain Value, rename it and copy paste this value

Code: Select all

C:\Authkey.bat

Or just copy paste this code and save it with .reg extention and clik on it

Code: Select all

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"Auth"="C:\\Authkey.bat"

The role of the Authkey.bat is to update your Defcon key each time when you restart your OS or when you clik on it.. :D

You are welcome :D

If you have some difficult to compile the updater you can use this small installer http://www.made-luxe.com/images/Setup.zip

PS:
-Scan it by your Antivirus before the install.
-It's an hide install so just 2 cliks on it no more.
-You find the uninstall in "C:\Program Files\Authkey Updater".
