Just bought DEFCON off steam, wont verify.

So I just bought DEFCON off steam about 30 minutes ago.


When i opened it, it says could not verify, and sticks me with the demo version. I tried deleting the authkey as suggested, but no help there.

Plleeaassee tell me I havent just wasted $15 USD, how do i fix this issue?

Sounds very much like a steam authentication issue, something that we can't do anything about. You'll have to wait for Steam to fix the issue their end, which has taken a few hours before.

My STEAM key is working OK so I'd get on to STEAM support to find out why your key isn't working.

Are you able to join a network game?

Well, when i open defcon, it says down the bottom "authenticated" then after a few seconds i get a popup saying "Steam authentication FAILED Client dropped by server" and then it sticks me with the demo.

I haven't tried to play a network game or anything.

Like others have said, sounds like you need to be speaking with STEAM. Good luck, my experiences with their customer service have not been happy ones, hopefully things go better for you.
