May I ask who is the distributor of the game (check on the game box)? You may want to check for your problem directly with the distributor.
Please, keep us updated on your process

Thanks for the reply.

I'm not sure what you mean by distributor. It's a genuine Introversion game as far as I can see, no distributor.
I'm in England but bought it from a shop quite a way from home, as I have never seen it on sale anywhere else, and won't be back there for months.
I have the disk and leaflet but there is no code printed anywhere.
Does that help?

If you bought it from a brick-and-mortar store then it's almost certainly a copy published by
Pinnacle Software, in which case I assume the code is meant to be on the back of the manual or similar. A copy direct from the Introversion online store doesn't have the code in the box, because it's provided to the account you create when you buy it online. Note the only way to buy Introversion copies is through their online store.
A copy from Pinnacle
should mention them on the back of the box. If yours is from Pinnacle, then I'd contact them about the lack of a code. If yours isn't... then I can only assume you've been duped and sold an Introversion copy, which has never contained the code.

Err.. I am surprised by your post Al.
The store I bought it from is a well known high street store, there is nothing about Pinnacle on the box, it's clearly a Introversion Software product.
You seem to imply that the store has bought a copy online and sold it in the shop without a code supplied ???
Is there anyone from Introversion reading this?
Can I have a code please!?
I can supply full details of the store and I have my receipt of course.

Do you have a digital camera (or do you kown someone who have one)? Could you post some photos of the box?
OK

You, clearly, are not understanding what he said. IV does not sell boxes in high street stores directly. They distribute their games through distributors. Pinnacle is the distributor of DEFCON in the UK. Thus, if you are buying DEFCON in a box from a high street store, it is almost guaranteed that you are buying a copy that has been distributed by Pinnacle.
Copies of DEFCON sold through Pinnacle should have an auth code on the box somewhere, or on the manual. I wouldn't know, as I am in the US, and bought my copy online directly from IV. However, listen to the people from the UK that have posted -- the code should be on the manual or box.

I object to the moronic comments, so stay nice will ya?
AS MY PIC SHOWS THIS WAS SOLD THROUGH A CHAIN OF SHOPS, IT IS NOT THROUGH PINNACLE AND THERE WAS NO CODE.

That's the same as the case I got from Introversion's online store... looks like you got ripped. I'd be going back to the store if possible and asking for a refund or the code.
Also: from that sticker, it looks like it could be a trade-in, in which case someone else probably ripped off the shop first. :/

Nu-uh, that's a Pinnacle copy, with the "photographic" looking nuclear explosion and "Global Thermonuclear War" rather than "Everybody Dies" on the front (compare
this with
this). It's interesting that they don't mention Pinnacle on the back of the box, but regardless, the issue with the lack of a code presumably lies with Pinnacle and the method with which they provide auth keys.
That is, the fault lies with Pinnacle - though that doesn't rule out IV solving the issue for you in their stead.

Also, the dead giveaway is the "PINNACLE Software" logo on the CD.

Haha, didn't even see that -.- But yeah, I'd just contact IV on: support at introversion dot co dot uk (given that's the address you're directed to on the
support page for the retail version in case of lost keys).
