Ok, so my new internet connection will allow me to connect games to the internet, but "Im running into some problems.
When Defcon starts it authenticates almost immediately, but when I look for games the browser runs incredibly slowly. When I allow it to actually take the several minutes it needs to find games, it then takes a very long time to join them (joining a dedcon game gave me an eight minutes wait to connect). I've tried disabling Windows firewall, but it had no effect.
Service is hit or miss on other games, C&C3 won't work but Stalker runs just fine.
I'm wondering if it is a port issue. I don't know anything about that kind of stuff, but here is what the in game network tab says:
Server Port- 5010
Client Port- 5011
Metaserver Port- 5009
Port Forwarding Enabled
Thanks for any help you guys can offer, let me know if any other information would be helpful.
Needing some advice

Do you use a Wireless connection? If yes, perhaps your signal is bad and you get lots of transmissions errors?
EDIT: Do the following test: http://myspeed.visualware.com/voip/ and check for Packet loss: you -> server, in advanced tab?

Unfortunately I am.
So you are _stealing_ the connection of your neighbor
Try changing the channel of the Access Point (in case it's a problem of interference)? Try changing the location or orientation of the AP (to get better signal reception).
(You may want to check the test suggested in my last post)
I've come up with a theory on why my connection is so bad. It goes like this:
In the sixties or seventies, when this complex was built, people still feared an imminent and unexpected nuclear war. In response the people here decided that they would build the apartment complex such that in the unfortunate event of Nuclear Armageddon the students wouldn't even have to leave their study desks, but would instead be sheltered in absolute safety in the comfort of their bedrooms.
I am basing this theory on the materials used to construct the interior bedroom walls, which I have taken a picture of to illustrate my point (this is the interior wall between my bed and closet):
Basically, my walls are all made of stone/brick thicker then the span of my hand. While I am no expert on the matter, I think this may be inhibiting the wireless signal.

The internet is provided by the complex, and I have no idea where the AP is. It's a pain, but it's how most of the complexes here are (since the utilities are bundled with the rent).
