Crash when starting singleplayer/join/tutorial

Postby Nestroyer » Sat Oct 13, 2007 3:32 pm

I just spended 35€ to support indie gaming. I get this shit..
But, I hope you can help.

The starts fine, I enter serial, serial is accepted. Menus work, etc etc
But when I click any buttons that lead to playing the game itself, I get the micro$oft crash (tm) box:

When I click for more info, I get this kind of box mentioning "winsflt.dll":

I did some searching with my computer, and there seems to be two of these files in following urls:

c:\windows\system32
c:\program files\PC Protection\FSPC

The below directory is the one where my firewall/virus program "F-Secure" lives (a memory hogging piece of shit I hope I never would have bought). It's a major finnish company, so it's nothing suspicious.

I have set the firewall to allow everything for defcon, I have even tried to disable the firewall but still it crashes.

The game doesn't create blackbox.txt, but here is the debug.txt:

winsflt.dll is part of something called PureSight Internet Content Filter. It appears to be that software which is crashing when Defcon tries to start a game, at which it takes Defcon with it.

It seems that there is no patch for it, it's integrated to the firewall.

Im going to my provider monday and stop using this piece of crap anymore. I hate it, I hate it to the guts.

Yay! I found a fix, the answer was here:

http://forums.introversion.co.uk/defcon ... ht=winsflt

edit: and sorry for being cranky. I didn't mean by "and I get this" that I offended the developers, more like cruel fate.

And what a frigging intense game. I think I havent played anything as dramatic and cold game in a long time. :)
