What is your graphic card? Update the driver?

Try smallfont MOD?

Please post back if it works.

Have you tried a much smaller resolution? The matrox millennium g450 is 7 years old ...

If frenchfrog's suggestion doesn't work, can you post your system specs?

Although you're only running the demo, it is possible to force Defcon to use the small fonts that frenchfrog linked.

You need to go into your defcon directory and create another directory called 'data'. In this directory create another directory called 'fonts'. Open the zip file that was linked, and you'll now have a choice. There's two sets of fonts here, one set that comprises of three 258Kb bitmap images, and another comprising of a set of 66Kb bitmaps. Extract your chosen set into the new directory you created, and Defcon should use those fonts rather than the default ones. It's suggested to start with the 258Kb images first, and then drop down to the 66Kb ones if your computer still has issues.

Let us know if any of this works or if you get stuck. Good luck :)

Then I'm unsure if there's anything else that can be done here. The graphics card is the weakest link in your system, and it's clear that it is unable to power a game of Defcon.

Sorry :|

Strange. Was there any crashes or problems leading up to the failure to work?

Try changing ScreenColourDepth = 16 to 32. See if that has any affect.

I have the same problem and it makes playing defcon impossible

My computer specs are:

AMD Athlon 1.7Ghz
1Gb RAM
NVidia 5500 Graphics card

I understand that my computer is quite old but the minimum req of defcon is still very low

Can anybody help me with this?
