Graphical mod crash

Postby bladerunner170 » Tue Jul 29, 2014 11:38 pm

So, I've tried to edit some of the textures, notably the Sam, and air base. I've exported both as bmp files of the exact same size and bit depth as the originals.. However, when I try to launch a game, I get this error:

Abort: 'Error reading bitmap'

..\..\contributions\systemIV\lib\resource\bitmap.cpp
Line number 216

I don't remember if I recieved that error, but when saving my bitmaps with RLE (run-length encoding) Defcon usually crashes. And RLE is pretty common for bitmaps. Gimp for example does it on default, so I have to disable it manually.

If original and mod have the same pixel count (and bit depth) but differ in data size, then probably RLE was used.

Edit: Actually the right answer is probaly this: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=47371
