Just reinstalled on steam, and now my auth key is gone?

Like I posted in the other thread, it doesn't work for me. I deleted the authkey and let it pull another one, still starts in demo mode.

Have you tried the usual Steam trick of deleting the whole Defcon folder and the client.blob file?

I've deleted the authkey > no go. I've deleted the whole defcon folder and let steam redownload it > no go. I've uninstalled steam, reinstalled it and let it download defcon again > no go. I'm out of ideas.

I just started getting the invalid key and booted to demo too. Deleting the authkey, re-downloading the game from steam etc. all do nothing. I've completely opened my computer up, no firewall, dmz on router and still no go. I must say if i'd known the game was going to be having issues like this intermittently up until this long after launch I never would have bought it and i'm kind of hesitant to buy introversion games in the future. It'd be nice to be able to play when i want to rather then when the authorization server wants me too.

stamasd: What is the exact error Defcon gives you (or at which authentication step does it fail)? (post your debug.txt after you deleted your authkey and the authentication failed)

Perhaps try contacting IV support directly.

At which date did you bought Defcon from Steam? (perhaps related to the Steam Server Authentification problems?)
