mouse dissapearing

Postby christov » Mon Apr 23, 2007 5:42 pm

hay guys!
I've just started playing defcon.. using the demo version atm but I've got a very bizarre problem occuring which I can't find support for anywhere.

Basically I run a dual monitor setup, with the main monitor on the left, and the secondary on the right. Defcon loads fine and dandy in the main monitor with no problems at all. But when I want to use anything in my right hand monitor.. the mouse cursor dissapears! The computer still registers it being there since i can still click and get things done, but the mouse point is not there so this makes it extremely difficult!
I've tried hitting esc twice to minimize the game, I've tried alt tabbing and running in windowed mode. I've also tried setting the defcon resolutions to everything I can think of as well as changing the refresh rates to match my monitors.. as well as changing them to not match my monitors!
I'm using the latest graphics drivers and the latest defcon version, and I have no idea what to do! The computer is more than adequate to run the game but here are the specs in case you need them. Hope this can be resolved soon!

CPU: Athlon 64bit 3800+
RAM: 2GB DDR2 SDRAM 4200
GFX: Nvidia GeForce 7600 GT using two DVI outs
HDD: 320GB Seagate Barracude Drive
Sound: On-board soundcard

Any other specs just ask and I'll be happy to let you know!

Dual monitor setup is a rare thing. 2.69% of Total users according to Valve Hardware survey.

counterstrike kiddies (valve/steam users) don't count as real people. So I fail to see what that survey has to do with anything.

Nobody has any idea what the problem could be? I noticed that defcon uses the windows hardware mouse, could that be an issue? Because I didn't used to have this problem in 1.3... is it a new feature in 1.4?

I have dual setup (nvidia dual view mode), but I dont have a disappearing mouse pointer.

Do you have expanded desktop or dualview?

being 2/3 of the user base proves nothing. Other than there are lots of them.

I am using dual view, both monitors are independantly configured using nvidias software.
I've tried using expanded view and nothing works... was hoping this would be fixed in 1.42 but it isnt.

What is your gfx card, and what driver version are you using?
