Same issue. Here's the difference.
Three people in the same office using the same imaged PC's, behind the same firewall rules etc. We cannot touch them so that's not an option.

Yesterday:
Person A (me) installs the game, works great! Tutorial runs and I play for a few, sweet. (no patch)
Person B installed the game, nothing works. Gets the tutorial loading screen, thats it. Can't start new game. (patch)
Person C installs the game, works great! Etc. etc. (no patch)

Copied my Defcon folder to a server, Person B can launch the game and it works from the server. Copied the game folder over locally and nothing happens.

Today:
Well I go to try and play the game this morning, same issue as person B. The game launches, however clicking "New Game" nothing happens. Clicking Tutorial, I have a list of missions and anyone I click on I get the "Loading Tutorial" or whatever and nothing happens. I installed the patch, still no change.

Person B launches the game today and it works! (re-installed, no patch)
Person C isn't in yet, so I dunno the status on that one.

Tried copying Person B's Defcon folder to the server today, nothing, game launches, however cannot use tutorial or new game.

We all are running P4's with 512megs of RAM, WinXP Pro, using some intel POS onboard video, on a single NIC. Why would it work yesterday and not today without any changes??

Here is the debug.txt (awefully large to post):

Really Strange, are you sure of that result?

Could Person B computer as buggy drivers/hardware or spyware/virus?

Positive. Each of us have the same image on our PCs, so there isn't a difference in hardware, AV, etc.

Ok, I guess you could compare the debug.log between Person B running on server vs locally.

Alright,

I'm one of the "persons" in this issue. I confirm exactly what dracon32 is stating. Worked once, and is now not functioning.

Person B who was now able to play it this morning can no longer play now. Same issue. Person B was running locally with a fresh install and not off the server. The sever was only used to test functionality between PC installations.

With the exception of Person B's log being much shorter, I'm not entirely sure what to look for.

Hmmm, nothing strange in the last provided logs.

Is 167.209.21.196 the right IP for Person B computer? Perhaps add Defcon to windows firewall exception list (if not already done)?

I think I have the same problem. I hadn't played Defcon in quite a while (at least since the 1.2 patch), but when I tried to this week this bug occured.

The thing is, the chat window opens and it appears that the options pane opens too, but is somehow invisable. What I mean is, moving the mouse over the blank space above the chat window, it will occasionally change to the resize cursor as if mousing over the edges of a window.

I tried port forwarding my router just to be sure (the router is new since last time I played, but in the same series as the previous), but it didn't seem to help. I can still see a server list with or without port forwarding, and it seems I can join a game (although I only did a very short test of that). So it would seem to point towards some kind of graphics issue. I'm not 100% sure my drivers are up to date, so that will be the next check.
