Thats after I left defcon running in the lobby for 30 minutes, with monitor power saving on.

Hmm..

This has been mentioned many times. I believe one person suggested it to be a problem with sounds not being terminated properly once a track ends.

There must be lots of tracks then. It just sits there all the time, getting bigger and fatter.

Strangely, it seems to have a detrimental effect on my ability to connect to hosts.

I'm downloading the standalone version now to see if thats any different.

There are quite a few tracks but its not the mere number of them its that the game loops through them creating a new instance for each track without terminating them when finished, or so that is what the person speculated.

It wont be. Browsing/searching the forums will tell you that it is a reported problem

well how much we have to wait for a patch for the huge amount of bugs?

What huge amount of bugs? The memory leak and sound options (which I'd take a stab and say were related) are all I can think of.

How about the random crashes?

The inability to connect to some servers, for no apparent reason?

The inability to reconnect to a server you just crashed out of, because it takes 30 years to resync?

Bombers only wanting to turn left?

Nukes flying out of the map?

Not being able to type into the comms box sometimes after alt-tabbing?

Not being able to select some units on the map join?

Airbourne units being killed, and subs underneath them being killed at the same time (same with ground radar too)

Chances are those aren't defcon, but alright

parrot of doom wrote:The inability to connect to some servers, for no apparent reason?
that's networking, not Defcon

parrot of doom wrote:The inability to reconnect to a server you just crashed out of, because it takes 30 years to resync?
Alright, I'm with you on that, but it's not so much a 'bug' as a poor feature

parrot of doom wrote:Bombers only wanting to turn left?
Haven't heard that one before

parrot of doom wrote:Nukes flying out of the map?
Or that one...

parrot of doom wrote:Not being able to type into the comms box sometimes after alt-tabbing?
Alt tab's bugged, true, but it was designed to use double escape, so this isn't exactly a huge one.

parrot of doom wrote:Not being able to select some units on the map join?
Not heard that one either...

parrot of doom wrote:Airbourne units being killed, and subs underneath them being killed at the same time (same with ground radar too)
Isn't that meant to happen then?

Planes fall from the sky and hit the subs, presumably?

Right. Sorry for getting the thread sidetracked.

At any rate is IV aware of this problem and/or including a fix for it in the next patch?

The 'bombers only turning left' thing is really getting on my tits now.
