Yay! An IV honcho, or a Steam honcho? Burrito?

they had to take it down becaue terrorist were using it to simulate a nuclear atack on america!! Sounds silly I know but dont you remeber after 9-11 they took off all the copies of microsoft flight simulator. Silly hu?

I don't think so. DEFCON is highly unrealistic, and terrorists don't have ICBMs and surface and submarine fleets.

I was recently on a business trip & played DEFCON on my laptop on the plane.
My neighbor looked at me with unease at first. The world grid in green, the unit symbols.. he eased up after my first game was over. Didn't talk the entire time.

Ya shoulda told him you were waging nuclear war from a secure location. Ahhh of course I was joking bout the terror thing, but hey ya know how sensitive people are these days

I'm not sure this is a accurate. I found http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/s ... p?t=492210, which is from 9/30/06, and clearly is another issue. From http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/f ... y.php?f=94 you can see posts from users having problems, but not anything from Steam.

My apologies. I didn't check the date (10/2/06) of the sticky post.
Yeah uhmm.. anybody's guess now.
Again, sorry about that folks. Didn't mean to post misinformation.

It's back up now.

Sorry about that, we had some networking problems yesterday as we transitioned to a new DNS provider. Hopefully it is all working now? Please let me know (john AT introversion.co.uk) if you are still having problems.

For those of you who are still having trouble please verify that metaserver.introversion.co.uk resolves to address 80.175.29.66

You can check this by running the command

Code: Select all

nslookup metaserver.introversion.co.uk
from a command prompt.

If you see an address other than the one above, then a reboot should solve the problem. Otherwise, if you see the same address, then it is more likely that you are encountering a different problem, quite possibly firewall or antivirus related.

nausicaa:~ xander$ nslookup -sil metaserver.introversion.co.uk
Server:         172.16.0.1

Non-authoritative answer:
Name:   metaserver.introversion.co.uk

Looks good to me.
