CONCAVE silo defense

Postby Dävid » Mon Sep 17, 2012 10:23 am

Hmmm...was just wondering but does anyone contest me claiming the CONCAVE silo set-up as my own?
I dont think I saw anyone using it before me.

Its very useful when you can expect an attack coming from one direction as it "focuses" fire power and it isnt your usual 6 pack.

Ive seen a few people using it recently to my delight :-)

Been done a long time ago, to varying degrees.

Some have more curvature.
Maybe one day.

CONCAEVE

Postby Dävid » Tue Sep 18, 2012 10:41 am

Is a long time ago more than 2 years? Thats when I started using it as a standard set.
I know JON always freaks when I do it :-)

Of course the curvature is dependent on where your expecting the main attack and your individual strategy.

I know MOR figures when Im doing it and guesses the curve for his nuking...but its still problematic to triangulate.

I suppose Im also just trying to encourage some non standard set-up and a bit of thinking out of the box.

I'd say 'yes', although every noob out there uses that very same formation at one point or another too. :P (vs. the less 'natural' but more effective double line, or Feud, or Star [of India])

Just pick an official name and we'll probably accept it.

CONCAVE

Hey there ACE...I know it seems nooby but it can be put to very effective use at times, and the fact that it isnt your usual standard throw "them" off sometimes.

CONCAVE is fine with me actually.

So,

" I dub thee CONCAVE!"

Cheers

Well, perhaps if you want credit you should refer to it as CONCAEVE? (or something)

whats to stop europe (in a non-cpu game) from simply using the bering strait to send subs down the spine of argentina and launching on you outside of your radar area?[/url]

CONCAVES

AIRBURST this was justa general example. It is certainly not indestructible.
Its just a diferent set up that provides concentrated firepower in a certain direction and also has a wide spread.
In practise with fighters Ive been able to confuse my enemy (in 2vs2) long enough.

The point is it can cause a lot of trouble. It is definitely not ideal for sync launching and I tend to trickle onto easy cities with the silos.

...and: EUROPE, BERING STRAIGHT, ARGENTINA? HUH? The example given was AFRICA RUSSIA. The CONCAVE would be diferent for EUROPE AFRICA which I often use to good effect. Sending you subs that way would be in danger of losing to the timer especially since EUR-AFR is usually an offloading game on cities with EURs SILOs high in SCANDANAVIA.
