I wish there was an alternative mode (a modding opportunity? I'll have to see...) which enhanced the realism a little. Silos cannot shoot down nukes, bombers must be right next to their target to drop bombs, subs have a much larger range, missiles follow realistic trajectories...it would be interesting, but not very fun for long. Maybe in diplomacy though.

You can probably change the unit attack ranges using minicom.

You have to edit a config file to make the changes. If you find any interesting setting combinations that work well be sure to post them here.
